New Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore Diver

Audemars Piguet (AP) introduces three new colorways for its adventure dive watch.

The Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore is a peculiar watch. Launched in 1993 to replace the Royal Oak, it forged its own path, largely thanks to the style Emmanuel Gueit gave it in the 1990s, a style perfectly suited to this large watch – or, if you prefer, this "beast." Over time, this controversial Offshore model became a huge success and grew, eventually even challenging the classic Royal Oak: "Hey man, I'm going to do things my way." And it did – becoming an enduring icon in popular culture and contemporary watchmaking.

So, while the Royal Oak is the epitome of sporty-chic watches, the Offshore, with its bolder proportions and looser stylistic constraints, became AP's rebellious artist, a platform for experimentation, and a vehicle for complications. Yet, it remains fresh, cool, and – dare I say – indispensable, especially thanks to the three-hand automatic dive watch. I love this deep-sea beast!

Today, we have three new watches, each designed to meet your various needs in terms of style, color, and function. Audemars Piguet adds three new 42mm watches to its dive watch collection, reinforcing the series' functionality while exploring more striking color combinations.

The Royal Oak Offshore Diver, initially launched in 2021 with the current 42mm diameter, is unique for its case structure specifically designed for underwater use. The watch features a stainless steel case, is water-resistant to 300 meters, and is equipped with two black ceramic screw-down crowns: one for setting the time and the other for controlling the internal rotating bezel. The three new watches launched in 2026 share the same technical foundation, showcasing a mature design. The 14.2 mm thick case is robust and durable, with a balanced and harmonious overall appearance; anti-reflective sapphire crystal glass is used on both the front and back, ensuring clear readability.

A striking feature of these new watches is the color scheme of the dial, bezel, and interchangeable rubber straps. Two of the models feature black dials adorned with Audemars Piguet's signature "Méga Tapisserie" pattern, reinforcing the unique identity of the Offshore watch. The bezels of these two watches feature vibrant colors for the 0 to 15-minute markers: pink for the first and turquoise for the second, complementing the numerals on the bezel. These color accents are not merely decorative. The contrasting colors of the first 15-minute markers are functional, facilitating time reading in low-visibility conditions. The diving hands and luminous 18K gold applied hour markers ensure clear legibility. Finally, the date display window at 3 o'clock completes the watch's design and functionality.

The third watch introduces a different color scheme to the series. Its blue-green dial, also adorned with the Méga Tapisserie pattern, presents a more understated yet technologically advanced contrast, further enhanced by the white luminous area on the 0 to 15-minute diving scale. The luminous applied hour markers and diving hands, along with the rose gold elements on the dial details and crown, add a touch of warmth, making this watch stand out.

All three watches come with interchangeable rubber straps—white, turquoise, or blue-green—enhancing the color coordination of each watch and highlighting the sporty nature of the Offshore diver's watch.

At the heart of these new watches is the Audemars Piguet (AP) Caliber 4308 movement. It has a frequency of 4 Hz (28,800 vibrations/hour) and a power reserve of at least 60 hours. Through the sapphire crystal case back, the blackened 22K rose gold oscillating weight is visible, providing a sophisticated contrast to the overall technical aesthetic. The Royal Oak Offshore Diver has always been a bold and uncompromising sports watch. Yet, it's also effortlessly versatile, perfectly suited to any occasion, mood, or location, whether in the Riviera Maya, the Museum of Modern Art in New York, or the Goodwood racetrack.
