Orlando Ledbetter at the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Koetter has been offered the vacant offensive coordinator job and will have the opportunity to join the Falcons for a second go-around after serving in the same role from 2012-2014.Koetter was a surprising choice for some of us—his years in Atlanta were mostly successful but not stellar, outside of 2012—but appears to be the fit the Falcons were looking for. He brings familiarity and a rapport with Matt Ryan and Julio Jones to the table Black Terrell McClain Jersey , several years of quality (if, again, not elite) offenses in Jacksonville, Atlanta and Tampa Bay, and a scheme that can be fairly easily adapted to what this team wants to do right now. He’s not an inspiring choice and I sort of dismissed him when his name came up, but his experience and consistently quality passing offenses when he’s had quality personnel suggest that he’ll be an upgrade on Steve Sarkisian, however slight.If the Falcons have indeed offered Koetter the job, it’s still not a done deal, as he’s been linked to other jobs around the NFL including Minnesota’s. It seems likely that if Atlanta’s this hot on Koetter, though, he’ll wind up here, and we’ll have to hope his second stint with the Falcons results in the Super Bowl the team was tantalizingly close to the last time he came to town.
