DAVIE http://www.ravensauthorizedshops.com/authentic-iman-marshall-jersey , Fla. (AP) — offseason workouts Thursday, first-year coach Brian Flores jumped on a plane to Boston to take part in the New England Patriots’ Super Bowl ring festivities. The long flight gave Flores a chance to reflect on how far the Dolphins are from such an occasion. Hired hours after coaching the Patriots’ defense in the NFL title game, he’s now four months into a rebuilding job in Miami. And Flores already feels like he’s behind schedule.“I have high expectations, so I’m always going to say we’re behind,” he said. “There are always two, three, four, eight things I feel like we could have done better. I do see some improvement. I see a lot of progress. Practice looks the way I want it to look, just from an operational and tempo standpoint. But I want to be at a higher level at everything. So no, we’re not where I want to be.”Part of Flores’ message has been that his standards will be high, which means he expects major improvement for a franchise that hasn’t won a playoff game since 2000.Progress probably won’t come quickly. Oddsmakers give the Dolphins only a 200-1 chance to win the Super Bowl in Miami in February, and no team is a bigger long shot. But the offseason practices provided cause for encouragement. Winning rave reviews were veteran newcomer Ryan Fitzpatrick at quarterback, injury-plagued DeVante Parker at receiver and first-round draft pick Christian Wilkins at defensive tackle. Players praised the culture established by Flores and his staff, and the team avoided any major injuries.“I think it has been a very successful offseason in terms of the attendance, in terms of the attention to detail and the work Trace McSorley Jersey ,” said Fitzpatrick, who is with his eighth NFL team and already a leader in the locker room. “It has not been perfect by and means, but I think we’re headed in the right direction. I think everybody also understands the work that’s in front of us, and the fact that we’re not even close to being where we need to be.”Fitzpatrick’s competitor for the starting job, Josh Rosen, received an offseason grade of incomplete — not a good word for a quarterback, but as anticipated. Rosen is still learning the playbook after being acquired from Arizona in April, and he declined to say whether his progress is on schedule.“One of my favorite phrases is, ‘If you set no expectations, you’ll never be disappointed.’ I don’t really have any expectations,” Rosen said. “I have good days and I’ve got bad days.”Fitzpatrick worked with the first team throughout offseason drills, but the quarterback competition won’t begin in earnest until next month.“It’s so early that until we really get into the nitty-gritty of training camp and the preseason, it’s just too early to say, ‘This guy is a starter,'” Flores said. “First team Ed Oliver Jersey , second team, I think I don’t put too much stock into that. We’re working everybody on the same plays. It’s about execution. It’s about fundamentals and technique. And if you do those things and you progress, then we’ll see where guys fall.”Players are now off until training camp begins in late July. Fitzpatrick will head home to Arizona to spend time with his wife and seven children. Rosen plans to stay with his parents in Los Angeles and work out at his alma mater, UCLA.“The work never stops,” Rosen said. “Just a little different location.”For Flores, the break began with his New England reunion. He worked for the Patriots for 15 seasons.“Good to see some old friends,” he said. “I’ve built a lot of really good relationships up there.”He’ll be back in his Dolphins office Friday, trying to figure out how to beat the Patriots when the teams meet in September. INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — Margus Hunt enjoyed playing in Indianapolis so much last season he decided to stick around for two more years with the Colts. And he didn’t give anyone else a chance to weigh in.One week before Hunt was set to become a free agent, the starting defensive tackle agreed to a new contract assuring he will play a key role as the Colts’ promising young defense tries to take the next step.“They clearly were trying to keep me here,” Hunt said on a conference call with reporters shortly after the deal was announced Tuesday. “The offer that was put in place sounded great, and I didn’t want to leave this kind of a locker room behind, and where it’s heading. I didn’t want to leave that behind and it worked out.”ESPN first reported Hunt would receive $9 million over the next two seasons, terms a person with knowledge of the deal confirmed to The Associated Press. The person requested anonymity because Indianapolis does not release terms of contracts publicly.Hunt, 31, might have been able to get more on the open market after starting 15 games last season and posting career highs in tackles (30) http://www.billsauthorizedshops.com/authentic-cody-ford-jersey , sacks (five) and tackles for loss (13). He also forced one fumble, recovered another and showed the skills that made him a second-round draft pick in 2013.But Hunt liked the fit — on the field and in the locker room — after Indy changed coaches and switched back to a 4-3 defensive front. The Colts liked the results after moving the 6-foot-8, 298-pound lineman from defensive end to defensive tackle, partially because of need but also because his length and quickness made him a disruptive force on the interior line.General manager Chris Ballard told reporters last Wednesday he wanted to keep Hunt and intended to meet with his agent during the NFL’s annual scouting combine, which ended Monday in Indy.It didn’t take long to work it out.“I was really hoping this contract would happen sooner rather than later, so it wasn’t really a hard decision as to whether we should play the market or not,” Hunt said. “I knew if a situation developed where I could be back here in this market and with these guys, it was a no-brainer.”Ballard prefers using salary-cap space to keep his own players whenever possible. He’s already re-signed three key players this offseason — kicker Adam Vinatieri, right guard Mark Glowinski and now Hunt — and he could make more moves before the market opens next Wednesday. The most likely in-house candidates would be safety Clayton Geathers and cornerback Pierre Desir. But with roughly $105 million in cap room, Ballard still has plenty of money to plug holes. And he has Hunt back to help.Hunt was originally drafted by Cincinnati and made 84 tackles and had 7 ½ sacks in four seasons with the Bengals. He joined the Colts as a free agent in 2017 and played primarily as backup that season.“I don’t know if the stars aligned or what happened, but I was able to have a great year,” Hunt said. “Hopefully I can keep progressing and we can have a great year.”
